This academically oriented program develops skills and attitudes for children ages 5–10. The program includes literacy, mathematics, science, and cultural studies. There is a continued emphasis on personal development through varied classes of music, computers, library, art, physical education, and an introduction to foreign language studies.
The literacy and mathematic programs are based on the Common Core Standards from the United States. Each course consists of ten units of study. The units follow a logical progression that challenge and interest the students. They are developmentally appropriate and require student to apply their learning to real life situations.
The science and cultural studies curriculums are inquiry based. They often include interdisciplinary projects and activities that engage students. Each course consists of five units of study.
All elementary students participate in MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing at least twice per year. The results of these assessments assist teachers in providing a well-rounded academic program for the students.
