On November 21 and 22, 2019 the staff of Kyiv International School participated in their annual professional development. This year’s theme was Visible Thinking with key note speaker Mark Church. This is the second year in a row that Mr. Church has visited Kyiv International School and we are very appreciative of his role in supporting or efforts educating and engaging our diverse student population.

Discussions that reinforced the theme of the professional development included: the 8 Cultural Forces that Define our Classroom; See, Think, Wonder; and Connect, Extend, Challenge.

Participants also took part breakout sessions led by education experts from our own staff. Topics covered a wide range of pedagogical approaches focused on reading, writing and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics).
