Welcome from the World Languages Department!
My name is Tatyana Issayeva, and starting in August 2017, I am performing the responsibilities of the World Languages Coordinator.
At AIS, we offer the following languages: French, Kazakh, Russian, and Spanish. Secondary and Middle School students have World Languages classes five times a week. Elementary students (5-10 years old) have World Languages classes four times a week.
All students engaged in the Intensive English program take an additional English language support class during the World Languages time.
All 5-6 year old students who do not need an additional English language support take Russian language classes. We do not have other options for this age group.
All Kazakh passport holders (7 years old through Secondary 4) are required to take Kazakh language. In addition, 11 years old through Secondary 4 students are required to take Kazakh History/Geography classes.
7 years old through Secondary 4 students who are not engaged in the Intensive English program and are not Kazakh passport holders have a choice of French, Spanish, and Russian courses and Russian course for native speakers.
We also offer French, Kazakh, Russian, and Spanish language activities to 5-10 year old students. All Elementary students including Intensive English students and Kazakh passport holders are invited to sign up for these activities.
If you have any questions, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
