Have Heart

It’s no secret that Vietnam is becoming the “new China” in terms of its budding economy and growing opportunities.  QSI International School of Haiphong has more than doubled in size in the last year and we are racing to stay ahead of the game as Haiphong is quickly being recognized for the great place that it is and what it has to offer.

As we anticipate other international schools popping up in the area, we are asking ourselves, “what sets us apart?”  The answer we are embracing is: heart.

QSI International School of Haiphong has heart.

Our heart is shown in the community that we build with the families.  Each month, QSI hosts a “Family Event” on a Saturday so that fathers can attend as well.  We have had Family Art Events where you come and get your hands dirty with paints, clay and creativity.  We have hosted Family Movie Nights on the big screen under the stars.  We know that a happy family = a happy student and we don’t just say that, we foster it.

The heart of QSI Haiphong radiates from our monthly focus on success orientations.  For the lunar new year, the QSI community filled over 160 shoe-boxes with useful gifts and hand-delivered them to the needy: concern for others put into action.

QSI offers a unique, and sometimes challenging motto — “success for all,” but we take it to heart.  Our students have learned how to use simple sign-language when communicating with our cafeteria staff.  More than half of our lunchroom staff is deaf: “success for all” put into action and taken to heart.

A school can’t just be a learning institution.  If we add a little heart it goes a long way, and that is what continues to set us apart.
