A chance to stop for a moment and recognize all of the
outstanding accomplishments around us!
Message from Director
MAP testing for the fall is almost finished and the students have worked hard to do their best. The teachers will have access to the scores soon, which will help them with planning for the future. At conferences the teachers will be happy to share the results with parents.
Teachers have also been establishing their goals for the year. These are student performance goals, so as teachers have gotten to know their classes they have looked at the strengths and needs of their students to determine the area in which they would like to see growth. Many of the goals this year are centered around providing the environment and activities to ensure students are understanding and using the new science vocabulary. However, teachers have established goals of all types, from rating and then developing more confidence in art to risk taking in drama.
October 5th and 6th teachers from Baku, Yerevan and Tbilisi will all be at QSIT to learn more about the new science program from two NGSS presenters along with a host of other workshops presented by teachers from all the schools. This is an opportunity for teachers to share ideas, learn some new skills and establish relationships with teachers who share the same positions. This is always a positive experience and we are happy to share our lovely school and city with those visiting.
