This is the time of year when we begin to look at the next school year: looking at schedules, classes to be taught, and opening the scholarship process. Many Georgian families apply for QSI scholarships as they hope for a better future for their children with unlimited options. QSI scholarships are available to only children with Georgian passport and citizenship. The amount of scholarship, or discount that can be provided in one year is determined by the number of students paying full tuition in the current school year. 10% of the total tuition collection is what can be offered to local students. Individual scholarships awarded vary in percentages. Families are asked to provide financial information, school records and complete an application. Students are screened using MAP for reading and math, an oral English language test and a writing sample. These are reviewed by QSI administration and those students believed to be an asset to our school population are then interviewed. The Advisory Board and Administration interview all applying students and their parents. Following this process, the Advisory Board and Administration look over all the results and offer families scholarships for the coming year or request that they try again next year. We have received some excellent applications this year and we look forward to welcoming new students into our school in August.

My name is Douglas Dunn and I am very excited to be joining the QSI team in Tbilisi. I am traveling from Ohio where I have taught for 12 years in both city and rural public school settings. I have also held an Administrative role at the University of Rio Grande in Residence Life (Housing and Student Activities). This is my first venture with QSI and I am certainly looking forward to the start of the year. My undergraduate studies are in Chemistry/Physics with concentrations in Computer Science and Mathematics. Graduate level work includes a M.Ed. in Educational Technologies as well as an M.B.A. in Entrepreneurship. As much as I enjoy technologies and the digital world, I love being in nature. I have a fondness for animals and the environment in general. Hiking and finding new places for that perfect picture or brief moment in time are simple pleasures which I enjoy. Looking forward to meeting the staff, students, and community which make up the school. Always hoping to make a positive difference wherever I travel.
