Welcome Back to School!

The first exciting days of school are over and classes are beginning to settle into a routine.  Elementary students have started to bond with their new teachers and new friends as they get back into the flow of the school day.  Middle School and Secondary students have sorted out their schedules and are involved in interesting discussions and the adventure of a new school year.

Middle School and Secondary Students have each chosen a special color to represent their class this year and will be headed out on September 7th for 2 nights of camping for some hiking, games and team building.  Many thanks to Mr. Alejandro and Mr. Bryan who have planned this event.

Our After School Activities (ASA) sign up will be coming home in an online form to elementary parents and students.  Please fill this out quickly so Mr. Evans is able to organize all the students and activities and get that information back to you.

Please join the Parent Support Group (PSG) for their first meeting of the year on September 5th at 9 am in the cafeteria.  Both President and Vice President are open positions currently.  Many wonderful PSG events are being planned this year and we are hoping many parents will be involved.

On a personal note, I would like to thank all of you who have come in to welcome Ron and I to Georgia.  We have certainly enjoyed our first few weeks and are looking forward to a great year.

Camping Trip for Middle School and Secondary Students

A great camping experience has been planned for the MS and Secondary students from September 7 through 9th.  Mr. Alejandro and Mr. Bryan have planned hikes, sports, campfire songs, cooking (and cleaning up!), orienteering and a host of other activities for these three days.  Each grade level will also be planning the assembly they are responsible for this year and learning more about community service.
The meals have been planned, the camp site and facilities have been checked and double checked, medical is being covered, and all is ready!  Please be sure your students are signed up and gather the materials and supplies they need for Wednesday, September 6th
Wednesday, September 6th – students will practice pitching the tents!  They should also bring the bags they intend to take on the trip (so the bus can be packed early in the morning).
Thursday, September 7th – load up the buses and head out.  Students should bring their own lunch and a small day pack for Thursday’s bus trip and for hikes.  All other food will be provided during the trip.
Thursday and Friday – lots of activities
Saturday, September 9th  – pack up the buses, clean the camp site and be back at school by noon.
Mr. Noll, Mrs. Martin, and Mrs. Smith will be working with those students who are unable to attend at school.  If students are not on the trip they will be expected to be at school.
The forecast is for sun!  It should be a great trip.

The registration form for ASA will be sent out on Wednesday at 7:30 PM.

Hello, we are preparing for the DELF B2 exam and are looking for a native French speaker as a tutor after school.  Also, if there are other students who are studying for DELFB1/B2 who would like to share a tutor, study together, or just team up to go to French language events around town to keep up our French, please let us know.
