Welcome to QSI International School of Dushanbe

I am a Third Culture Kid. I was born in Liberia and lived overseas (in Liberia, Ethiopia, Bolivia and Peru) until I attended college. After graduating from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania I had many jobs that paid the bills but did not fulfill me, until I “accidentally” became a teacher, in the Fall of 1999. From the moment I stepped into my first classroom of 6th graders, I knew that education would define the rest of my working life.

I taught at an independent charter school in Michigan for 8 years, during which time I became certified through a cohort program at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.  I also earned my Master’s degree from Central Michigan University.   In August of 2010, I went overseas to teach at a small international school in Western Venezuela.  My sister, Sieneh Wold, who is also a teacher, accompanied me.  We stayed at that school for a total of 7 years, and for the last 4 years I was Head of School.  During this time, I completed a Certificate in International School Leadership.  In 2014 my sister and I joined Quality Schools International, where I served first as Director in Shenyang, China (2014-2016) and most recently in Djibouti, Republic of Djibouti, opening a new school in August of 2016.

All educators understand the opportunity we have to shape the next generation.  However, to be an international educator is a special responsibility because the students who are educated at our schools will grow up to lead nations.  For me, it is a privilege and a joy to serve as a leader in international education.  I am excited to be at QSI International School of Dushanbe where I can continue to live my passion for education.
