Leyli Ramazanova

graduate

Leyli Ramazanova graduated from Ashgabat International School with Academic Honors in 2017. She joined AIS in 2012 as a local 13 YO student earning a scholarship to attend. During her time at AIS, she wasted no time putting her print on the school. She was a leader in the school serving as student council and NHS president. She acted in plays, played volleyball and was always at school events volunteering her time, as well as working with community outreach programs. She describes her favorite memories at AIS as being able to roam the halls during study hall. She would visit teachers and cherishes all the conversations she had with them with some of her most memorable conversations happening during this time. Research class, she says, was the most helpful secondary class for university.

Ms. Ramazonova went on to attend Yale NUS College on a full scholarship. She also applied to Lehigh University, MIT, Columbia, NYUAD and to the Russian State Exams. She chose Yale NUS College because of her research and past students’ experiences.
She graduated this May with a BSc Honors in Mathematics, Computational and Statistical Science. She will start her career this July in Singapore as a software engineer for Goldman Sachs. Her favorite class while attending Yale NUS was Intro to Computer Science because that is what sparked her interest in computer science and drove her down that path. Her hardest class, she says, was Parallel Programming. Her favorite memory from her time at university was her semester abroad even though it was cut short because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Congratulations, Leyli!
