Graduation Address to the Class of 2025

Dear QSI Graduates,

Receiving your QSI diploma is both a celebration and a moment for reflection. Your diploma marks not only what you have accomplished, but also what you have become. It is a time to remember what you have learned, the friendships you have built, and the skills that have shaped you as QSI graduates. Our hope is that QSI has prepared you well for the next step in your journey.

If you ever travel to Malta, you will see stone walls stretching across the island. These are called ħitan tas-sejjie—rubble walls. At first glance, they may appear simple, just rough stones stacked together. But look closer, and you begin to see something important: each stone is carefully chosen, each one deliberately placed, and together they form a strong and lasting structure.

There is something else remarkable about these walls. They are built without cement. What holds them together is balance. Each stone must support the others to create a strong wall.

We hope your education experience at QSI was much like one of these walls. Over the years, you have built your own strong wall—stone by stone. You have developed academic knowledge. Your understanding of mathematics, science, writing, analysis, and problem solving are some of the essential stones that are now part of your wall. They give you the tools to think clearly, to create, and to engage meaningfully with the world.

Just as important, you have developed character. Your understanding of Responsibility, Concern for Others, Trustworthiness, Kindness, Group Interaction, and Independent Endeavor—these are essential stones as well for your wall. The QSI Success Orientations shape who you are, not just what you know.

A wall built only of knowledge is not strong enough. A wall built only of character is not complete. But when academic knowledge and Success Orientations are built together in balance, a powerful student is created and success is achieved! That is what defines a QSI graduate.

QSI Astana Celebrates 20th Anniversary
QSI Astana Celebrates 20th Anniversary

At the end of May, the QSI Astana community came together to celebrate a truly special milestone—our 20th Anniversary! The 20th Anniversary Celebration (along with our annual Music on the Green concert was a joyful evening filled with music, student performances, and meaningful moments that honored our school’s rich history and vibrant community.

Families, students, and staff enjoyed a festive atmosphere that reflected the spirit of QSI Astana—one of connection, creativity, and shared purpose. From heartfelt performances to community activities, the celebration highlighted not only how far we’ve come, but also the strong relationships that continue to shape our future.

We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making this event so memorable and look forward to many more years of learning, growth, and community together at QSI Astana!

QSI Chisinau Celebrates 30th Anniversary

QSI Chisinau first opened its doors in September 1996, just five years after the collapse of the USSR. Since then, the school has grown steadily, expanding across two locations and adding new space in 2018 to support its development. Today, we serve a vibrant community representing 27 nationalities, including diplomatic families, local students, and children of parents working with multinational organizations. As Moldova continues its own path of growth, with EU accession anticipated in 2030, our school remains closely connected to the country’s evolving story.

Our 30th anniversary celebration was a joyful and memorable occasion. Students helped bring the school to life with decorations, and we were delighted to welcome Luke Woodruff, along with Karen and Tim Hall, into our classrooms. The day included a school wide celebration with cake and a spirited rendition of happy birthday.

The festivities continued with an evening celebration for our wider QSI community. Guests enjoyed meaningful traditions such as the bread and salt welcome, along with music, cultural dancing, a performance by the well known Moldovan Joc dancers, a silent auction, and time together as a community. With beautiful weather and a warm, festive atmosphere, it was a celebration that reflected both our history and the strong sense of community that defines QSI Chisinau today.

QSI Yerevan Celebrates 30th Anniversary


QSI Yerevan marked its 30th anniversary with a warm and memorable celebration honoring three decades of learning, growth, and community.

The event brought together students, staff, alumni, and families, along with distinguished guests who joined to recognize the school’s impact and longstanding commitment to quality education in Armenia. Their presence added a special significance to the milestone, highlighting the strong partnerships and shared values that have shaped QSI Yerevan’s journey. Here’s to the next chapter of excellence and inspiration.

QSI Sarajevo Performs 'Footloose the Musical'

On June 5th, QSI Sarajevo performed 'Footloose the Musical' with catchy songs and great choreography. Secondary Dramatic Arts students led the way as the principal cast and crew, and almost the entire school, from Preschool to Sec 4, was part of the ensemble. 

This was our 4th major annual musical, and for some of our graduating seniors, their fourth time on the stage at the Bosnian Cultural Center. To close the show, graduating thespians led a sing-a-long of  “Slipping Through My Fingers” for our Drama teacher, Ms. Ruthanne, a moment that said more than any thank-you speech could.

This is what QSI Sarajevo looks like when it comes together -- and it wouldn't be possible without Ms. Ruthanne, the cast and crew, every student performer, the staff, and the families who help make the musical happen.
