QSI Learning Support - November PD
This November, the Learning Support Coordinator team traveled around the world providing professional development to many different schools.
We focused on building empathy for students with diverse needs and utilizing the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework to make curriculum accessible for all learners. Within our Building Empathy PD, we utilized an instructional practice with choice boards and offered participants to pick three out of the six options. These options included experiencing simulations of different disabilities and disorders to help give participants an example of what it is like to live with a certain specific disability or disorder every day.
