Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an extracurricular activity in which students typically role-play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. This activity takes place at MUN conferences.

BratMUN - Bratislava, Slovakia - October 18-23, 2017

Bratislava Model United Nations (BratMUN) is a UN simulation annually taking place in Bratislava. Just as during any other MUN conference, secondary school students from all around the world are given the opportunity to serve as delegates for various countries and thus develop their skills of diplomacy, debate and collaboration through discussion about issues of global significance.
Ages: 15+

JCUMUN - Rome, Italy - February 7-11, 2018

This conference is held at the American University of John Cabot, in Rome, Italy. JCU MUN welcomes high school and college students to the world of debate and international diplomacy involved in Model United Nations. For John Cabot University and the JCU MUN Society it is an honor and a pleasure to host the Eighth edition of JCU MUN on February 8-10 2018 in Rome. Inspired by last year's success, the 2018 conference will offer three committees: participants will debate nuclear proliferation in the Korean peninsula in the Security Council, humanitarian crises in failed states in the Human Rights Committee and the income gap between rich and poor within developed and developing countries in the ECOFIN committee. Not only will delegates develop and expand their knowledge of the specific topics and the UN structure, but they also will significantly enhance their public speaking, academic writing style and formatting, leadership, team working, and negotiating skills.

Delegation: 6 students
Conference Fee: 65 Euro*
*Cost includes bags, pens, notebooks, t-shirt, lunch on Friday and Saturday, coffee, snacks, and more

MUNiM - Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina - March 23-26, 2017

MUNiM Model United Nations Conference hosted by the United World College in Mostar. The conference will take place March 23rd through 26th, 2017, in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our conference seeks to extend the mission of United World College to promote peace and understanding through education, debate, and discussion.
We are hard at work preparing our conference to ensure that the standard of this conference and our commitment to the delegates is of the highest quality. This year’s conference has a general theme “Tipping Points in International Politics” promoting critical thinking along high tension issues. This theme will be promoted in 6 different councils: Security Council, World Trade Organization, Historical (focusing on the Conference of Berlin), Environmental, European Union, and Human Rights. Each council will be run by specially trained student chairs that will help to shape the flow of the debate and provide useful insight and feedback for delegates. Each council will cover a multitude of topics related to the general theme and present day situations designed to test the delegates’ abilities to articulate arguments, expand their perspective on global affairs, and gain experience in negotiation and collaboration.

SCIMUN - Shekou, China. March 16-18, 2017

This is the first QSI student-led MUN Conference, located just across from Hong Kong on the mainland in Shekou, China. It will be holding its second annual conference this year. It began with QSI Graduate, Mark Shen, and Advisor, Kyle Mims. It hopes to continue to grow and encourages schools from southern China and the region, as well as other QSI schools internationally to attend. This year, QSI Senior, Nishant Aswani will be Secretary General.

BIMUN - Belgrade, Serbia. March 23-26, 2017

The United Nations Association of Serbia (www.unaserbia.rs) has been organizing, international conference „Belgrade International Model UN – BIMUN Junior“, a simulation of the work of the UN bodies, since 2012.
What sets BIMUN apart is the high level of knowledge gained, modeling with firm rules of procedure based upon the real working procedures of UN bodies, as well as the very current issues that are covered. Emphasis is placed on the preparation period for participants and realistic simulation.
The project team is consisted of successful high school students, best participants from previous BIMUN conferences. During the several month-long preparation period, the team participates in all the aspects of planning and organizing a project. When the conference is finished, best participants work on the BIMUN Plus – a research project. In that sense, BIMUN remains a whole-year activity, a process where a large number of successful young people participates, gaining new knowledge and experience, in a fun and interactive way, in accordance with contemporary educational principles.
Belgrade International Model United Nations – BIMUN Junior 2017 (23 – 26 March 2017) is the fifth annual international youth conference simulating the work of UN bodies on the following topics:
* SECURITY COUNCIL: The Situation in Nigeria - the threat of Boko Haram
* GENERAL ASSEMBLY: Plan for preventing violent extremism

* HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL: The Migrant crisis
