QSI Yerevan's Secondary Program

Certificate of Accreditation

Our accreditation through the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) ensures that students are receiving a universally recognized diploma that prepares them for a bright academic future. Since 1887, the prestigious MSA accreditation is considered the gold standard for schools, as it verifies the quality of each member school through yearly reporting and regular visitations. At QSIY, we take our membership in MSA quite seriously by actively planning and implementing improvement plans to create an ever-stronger school program and environment.

The QSIY secondary academic program aims to prepare students for acceptance and subsequent success in top universities in North America, the UK, and Europe. While studying at QSIY, students will be engaged in challenging work in core academic areas as well as in the fine arts.

Advanced Placement Courses

In order to add rigor to the curriculum as well as to prepare students better for university study and improve their chances for admission into the better schools, QSI International School of Yerevan offers the AP Capstone Program with Diploma as well as a number of Advanced Placement (AP) courses on site. Students who take these courses and do well on the end-of-year examinations have a significant advantage in the university acceptance process and receive college credit for the AP classes they have successfully completed in high school. The following AP courses are taught at QSIY in School Year 2016-2017: AP Physics, AP Biology, AP English Literature and Composition, AP Seminar, AP Research, AP World History, AP Human Geography, AP Psychology, and AP Calculus.

Advanced Placement courses scheduled for School Year 2017-2018 are the following:  AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP World History, and AP Psychology.

Any student interested in taking a course not offered through QSIY make take the course online at our QSI Virtual School (QVS).

National Honor Society

National Honor Society, or NHS, is an academic and character based organization centered in the United States. This organization selects students who represent leadership, scholarship, service, and character in our school community. Our chapter here has started out small, but has organized many successful events this year. These include: a clothing drive, hosting an Orphanage, QSI-Y Family BBQ, a recycling competition, and many more events! Why join NHS? Well, NHS is a recognized organization throughout the United States and Canada. In addition to scholarship opportunities offered by NHS, students will also have a more competitive application when applying to universities.

QSI Yerevan was a recipient of NHS Outstanding Service Project Award for 2018.

SAT and PSAT Testing

Secondary students at QSI Yerevan have the opportunity to take two important college entrance exams. The SAT exam is the main test of college readiness in the United States and is recognized in many other parts of the world as well.  The PSAT (Preliminary SAT) is a test that allows younger students to experience the SAT testing environment and practice for the SAT.  All Secondary II and III students take the PSAT exam and we offer SAT preparation and registration support for secondary III and IV students who wish to take the SAT exam at a testing center in Armenia.  In the most recent year, 2016-17, students achieved SAT scores ranging from 930 to 1430 with 25% of students scoring in the 90% or above. QSI-Y offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses to secondary students as well as the prestigious AP Capstone diploma program.
