Pre-School Program

City Campus
The City Campus is open for children aged two, three, and four years. The facilities are made up of a large attractive house with a tiled entrance play area, a large grassy garden with swings and covered sandbox, and a large basement for indoor play. The site is located between the French and Kuwaiti Embassies.
Staff
The instruction and supervision needed for this active group are provided under the leadership of a qualified experienced teacher from the UK, Mrs. Nicola Erskine. Mrs. Erskine works together with 2 trained teachers and paraprofessionals on a ratio of 1 adult to 4 students (2yrs old), 1 adult to 5 students (3 years old) and 1 adult to 6 students (4 years old.)

School Days - Hours
School year is from 30 August 2005 through 21 June 2006.
Classes are Saturday through Wednesday.
School hours: 7:55 a.m.-12:00 noon.
Fees
Registration Fee - $100 (one-time only)
5 days/week - $2500 (1st term - $1000, 2nd & 3rd terms - $750)
Afternoon Arabic Program
This is an optional extra to our main English program for 3 and 4 year olds. A team of trained, experienced paraprofessionals whose native language is Arabic runs the Arabic program. The curriculum includes similar activities to that of the English program: art, music, drama, cooking, outdoor and indoor play in addition to language development and early reading, writing and math skills in Arabic.

Educational Program
* The curriculum includes story and discussion times, music, drama, computing, physical education, crafts and cooking activities. Workbooks and worksheets are used to develop writing, reading, visual, auditory and thinking skills. There is also time for free play and the development of social skills with other children. Occasional field trips are made to reinforce what the students have learned in class.
* An excellent variety of teaching materials, educational and recreational toys are available.

* Appropriate computer use and instruction begin with the 3 year old children. Computers are integrated in the curriculum. The students begin preparation at an early age for entry into the technological world of today and the future.
* The City-Campus has the support of the administration of Sanaa International School, an established school in its 35th year in Sanaa. Emphases are placed on success orientations of Trustworthiness, Responsibility and Concern for Others, Kindness/Politeness, Group Interaction, Aesthetic Appreciation, and Independent Endeavor.
* All nationalities are welcome.

Main Campus Visits
Students of the City Campus have access to the beautiful main campus of Sanaa International School. Weekly trips provided by a school bus take the 3’s and 4’s to the main campus for visits to the library, the dome and the computer lab. The pre-school particularly enjoy interaction with the main student body on special days such as Dress-up Day and Yemen Day as well as for Drama presentations and other school events.
