Parent Involvement Program
Sanaa International School’s parents are encouraged to become involved in the education of their child (ren) through the school. Whatever your involvement, you can make a world of difference to your child and the school. Parental involvement can be as simple as asking your child, “How was school today?” Doing so, will send your child (ren) the clear message that schoolwork is important to you and you expect their best. Here are some other ways to become involved:
Involvement at Home
* Read to your child as a regular pattern.
* Check your child’s homework regularly.
* Limit television viewing, especially on school nights.
* Insist on a high standard of behavior.
Involvement at School
* Volunteer to act as a chaperone on field trips.
* Prepare food and/or assist with classroom parties.
* Assist with a theater production.
* Help with an art or science exhibition.
* Lead an afternoon activity.
* Volunteer assistance in the classroom.
* Donate old magazines and books to a class.

Visit a Classroom
Our school is your school. Parents have an open invitation to visit at anytime. If you would like to visit a classroom during class time, please contact the office so arrangements can be made for a convenient time for both the teacher and parent.
Parents’ Advisory Group
Parents are strongly encouraged to become actively involved in the school. With parent support the school can become even better. The PSG meets each month to discuss ways in which the parents can support the school. They are encouraged to generate ideas and also to respond to requests made by school staff.
The PSG is coordinated by Mrs. Hauth. If you would like to become more involved in the school please contact her (phone # & email available from the school office)
The Parents’ Support Group members have assisted the school by:
* Becoming a class representative
* Running an after school activity
* Chaperoning field trips
* Organizing a staff appreciation luncheon
* Operating a library book drive
* Organizing a class party |
