Bishkek International School, a private non-profit institution that
opened in September 1994, offers high quality education in the English
language for preschool, Kindergarten, elementary, middle, and secondary
students. In August of 2004 the school moved into a newly renovated
building which is located in a park like setting just minutes from the
center of the city. The new facility has play areas, soccer field, covered basketball court,
cafeteria, computer lab, library, an early childhood center and
sufficient classrooms to accommodate a quality curriculum for children
from 2 years of age through secondary school.
The school's educational
philosophy, which includes a personalized approach to instruction,
leads to teaching for mastery. We believe in success for all
students. We seek to create a positive learning environment since we
believe a child learns more if he enjoys his learning experience.
THE
PRIMARY PURPOSE of the school is to meet the needs of the children in Bishkek who require this type of education with a view to continuing their education in their home countries with a minimum of adjustment problems. This program is also offered to Kyrgyzstani citizens who seek this education with a view to higher studies outside of
Kyrgyzstan. In addition to its scholastic goals, the school endeavors to provide its students with knowledge of
Kyrgyzstan.
THE
CURRICULUM includes English (reading, grammar, composition, keyboarding, and spelling), mathematics, cultural studies (history, geography, economics, etc.), science, computer literacy, art, music, and physical education as part of the regular program. Textbooks are loaned to students without charge. |
