Message from Director
On November 26 all school staff will be participating in the Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum Training provided by QSI headquarters. This curriculum will be presented by a trainer from Baku. Teachers, from 3 YO’s through Secondary IV, will be teaching this curriculum beginning in January.
Parents are invited to an introduction to the Keeping Safe program on January 11th from 9-10 am in the cafeteria. Mr. Martin and Mr. Teeter will be presenting. An overview of the entire program will be given, so all parents are invited.
On November 26, in addition to the Keeping Safe program all staff will review the staff Code of Conduct expected of every QSIT staff member in regard to how each person should be treated. Please note the Code of Conduct attached to the newsletter for parents. As we issue new ID cards (in January), each parent in our QSIT community will be required to sign this agreement. Please read the attached and let me know if you have any questions.
The world is a complicated place and while we do not want our students to be afraid, we do want them to be thoughtful of their decisions, understand what choices are available and how to make a good one. QSIT is doing all we can to educate students and clearly explain expectations to all those who work with them. All staff members must have background checks and references are required. We will continue to work with all agencies to ensure the safety of our entire community, we appreciate that you are all willing to work with us.
Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct must be read and signed by all employees of the school, parents, and anyone who will have contact with students as part of a school program, activity, field trip, or other event. The person’s signature indicates understanding and agreement to the Code of Conduct.
17-18 November was a weekend of charity, warmth, support and happy faces. More than 20 students from QSI volunteered for C.O.A.T.S to help children in need, choose warm clothes and other goods for this winter.
Tetri Drive The Tetri drive is a fundraiser for children in need. QSI students and staff are collecting coins in the big jars. The homeroom which will have the heaviest jar will win Panther Points and a sponsored Pizza party!
