QSI International School of Chongqing, is a non-profit institution that opened in October 2006 offering high quality education in English for students from three (3) years of age through secondary school, 18 years of age. This is a newly built school located in Shapingba District in University Town which became fully registered in Chongqing in the fall of 2009. Students are admitted who carry foreign passports or who have papers from Hong Kong or Macau. It is the only school in Chongqing that is able to give AP classes and the SAT.  It contains 10 classrooms, a library, a computer lab, a large outdoor play area with a running track and soccer field, and an indoor gymnasium. This unique facility is located conveniently for international families. Many foreign companies are locating near the school in this new area of Chongqing. Busing is available for families who live in other districts.

The school's educational philosophy includes a performance-based personalized approach to instruction leading to mastery learning. We believe 1) All students can succeed, 2) Success breeds success, and 3) It is the responsibility of the school to provide the positive conditions for success.

THE PRIMARY PURPOSE of the school is to meet the needs of children with foreign passports or who come from Macau, Hong Kong, or Taiwan who require this type of education with a view to continuing their education in their home locations at a later time. In addition to its scholastic goals, the school endeavors to provide its students with knowledge of China and the Chinese language.

THE CURRICULUM includes English (reading, grammar, composition, and spelling), Mathematics, Cultural Studies (history, geography), Science (physical, life, and earth), Art, Music, and Physical Education. The school seeks to provide students with an appreciation and knowledge of the rich culture and history of China. Materials and equipment are up to date and of high quality. Class sizes are small. Most teachers are native English speakers and are expereinced. All are certified from their home country. The curriculum ensures mastery of specific skills and knowledge involving both individual and group instruction. Intensive English is provided for students who need help with English. Mandarin is taught as a second language.
