QSI International School of Chengdu, a non-profit institution, opened its doors in August 2002. QSI Chengdu offers a high quality education in English for students from two (2) years of age through eighteen (18) years of age. The school expanded and added a second campus for middle school and secondary students in August 2011. The school has two basketball/volleyball courts, two libraries, two computer labs, three science labs, a cafeteria and multi-purpose room that can be used for performances, two music rooms and two art rooms. Students can choose from five different AP courses and SAT tests are given at the school five times per year. After school activities include sports, music, computer clubs, arts and crafts, and a host of other activities.
A lunch program and busing are available at an extra cost.

THE
PRIMARY PURPOSE of the school is to meet the needs of international children in Chengdu who require an American curriculum with a view to continuing their education in their home countries with a minimum of adjustment problems.
THE CURRICULUM for each subject is reviewed and revised every seven years. Materials and equipment are up to date and of high quality. Class sizes are small. Native English speaking, experienced, certified teachers are employed.
THE ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM includes English (reading, writing, listening and speaking), Mathematics, Cultural Studies, Science, Art, Music, Physical Education, Computer, Library, and Chinese. The school seeks to provide students with an appreciation for the rich culture and history of China. Intensive English classes are offered to students 7 YO and up who need additional help with English.
THE SECONDAIRY CURRICULUM includes Literature, Writing, Math, Science, Art, Music, Cultural Studies, Physical Education, Computer and Chinese. Advanced Placement or AP classes providing challenging university level curriculum are available in Literature, Language, History, Calculus, Biology and Chinese. |
